ASE down Tuesday on blue chips

Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange ended Tuesday’s trading session in the red zone, losing 0.06% or 1.26 points, closing at 2,103.63 points.

The main index was dragged down by blue chips, as Jordan Electric Power, Al Ahli, and Jordan Islamic Bank declined by 1.62%, 0.83%, and 0.54%.

The services sector lost 0.09%, while the banks sector slipped 0.08% as Contempro for Housing led the session’s decliners and dropped 2.97%.

On the other hand, the industrial sector rose by 0.13%, on the back of 4 rising stocks led by Universal Modern Industries which grew by 2.64%.

Total traded volume increased to 7 million shares compared to 6.9 million shares in the last session.

Turnover also went up to JOD 7.1 million from JOD 6.1 million on Monday.
