ASE ends Wednesday in red on blue chips

Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) ended Wednesday’s trading session losing 0.27% or 5.69 points, closing at the level of 2,103.17 points.

The main index was dragged down by blue chips, as Jopetrol lost 0.28% and was the most active in terms of traded volume with 127,770 shares.

Eqbal and Cairo Amman Bank also declined 1.11% and 1.06% respectively.

The industrial, services, and financial sectors lost 0.3%, 0.23%, and 0.2% respectively.

Al Isra for Education and Investment was the session’s top gainer, adding 4.44%, while International Cards led the decliners, dropping 4.54%.

Arab Bank registered the highest traded value with nearly JOD 747,700, closing at JOD 6.06.

Total traded volume decreased to 6.19 million shares from 10.64 million shares yesterday.

Similarly, total turnover also declined to JOD 6.73 million, compared to JOD 11.8 million on Tuesday.
