Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) ended Wednesday in green, after closing near stability on Tuesday.
The benchmark index rose 0.54% or 11.33 points, closing at 2110.35 points.
The industrial sector gained 3.08%, on the back of the session’s highest gainer, Eqbal, which added 7.5%, and had the biggest turnover at JOD 1.58 million ($2.23 million). Moreover, Hayat and Arab Potash increased 1.66% and 0.48% respectively.
Similarly, the financial sector rose 0.23%, with Bank of Jordan, the highest traded with 126,440 shares, levelling up 2.63%. Arab Bank and Jordan Kuwait Bank also went up 0.97% and 0.55% respectively, while Arabia Investments went down 4.2% leading today’s losers.
On the other hand, the services sector declined 0.71%, with Jordan Petroleum Refinery (Jopetrol) losing 2.1%.
Traded volume decreased to 7.04 million shares compared to 8.82 million on Tuesday, while turnover grew to JOD 9.24 million ($13.03 million) from yesterday’s JOD 8.05 million ($11.37 million).
