ASE gains stretch 0.22%

Mubasher: The main index of the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) remained in the green area after closing Wednesday with a rise of 0.22% or 4.63 points to 2,150.37 points.

Turnover increased to JOD 10.3 million from JOD 9.2 on Tuesday. Trading volume reached 12.1 million shares through 5,040 trades.

The financial and industrial sectors were the best performers after advancing 0.47% and 0.12% respectively, while services fell alone by 0.59%.

The index was supported by the positive performance of 56 shares that ended higher, out of 131, leaving 32 others in red.

National Poultry led risers by adding 5.00%, while Union Tobacco and Cigarette Industries topped decliners with a decrease of 6.59%.

The benchmark index inched up yesterday by 0.43% or 9.2 points to 2,145.74 points.
