Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) ended Monday’s trading session in the green zone, as the main index added 0.28% or 6.08 points to the level of 2,176.45 points.
Today, on the first session of 2017, the main index rose on the back of blue chip stocks as Jopetrol, and Bank of Jordan increased by 1.16% and 0.34%. The two stocks combined account for nearly 15% of the main index weight.
The services sector increased by 0.84% as Orange and AFAQ went up by 3.9% and 2.6% respectively.
Similarly, the financial sector grew 0.32% as Al Amal Investments surged 7.35%, was the session’s to gainer, and was the most active in both traded values and volumes with 1.1 million shares and a total turnover of JOD 775,740, despite that International Cards was the biggest loser and dropped 4.5%.
On the other hand, the industrial sector declined by 0.45%, as Jordan Steel and Al Eqbal lost 2.85% and 1.4% respectively.
Total traded volumes decreased to 6.43 million shares from 10.3 million shares on last session, while turnovers reached JOD 7.93 million down from JOD 12.4 million on Thursday.
