Mubasher: The main index of the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) ended Monday’s trading session up 0.33% as it gained 7.16 points and closed at the level of 2,177.18 points.
The main index rose on the back of blue chips stocks, Jopetrol, Al Eqbal, and Jordan Kuwait bank went up by 1.46%, 0.36% and 3.35%. The three stocks combined account for more than 18% of the main index weight.
The services sector increased by 0.84% on the back of Jopetrol and Orange which gained 2.11%.
The industrial sector rose by 0.39% as Union Tobacco jumped 6.19%, while Jordan Steel added 2.94%.
Similarly, the financial sector grew by 0.12% as Al Amal Investment surged 7.31%, led the session’s gainers, and was the most active in trade with 888,020 shares and a turnover of JOD 761,240.
The financial sector gains were offset by the losses of seven stocks led by United Financial Investments, the session biggest loser which declined by 3.33%.
Total traded volumes increased 7.67 million shares from 7.5 million shares on Sunday, while traded values decreased to JOD 6.34 million compared to JOD 8.46 million.
