ASE rises Sunday on the industrial sector

Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) ended Sunday’s trading session in the green zone, gaining 0.04% or 0.83 points, and closing at the level of 2,086.52 points.

The main index rose on the back of the blue chips, as Arab Bank added 0.49%, and registered the highest traded value at JOD 789,670, while Al-Eqbal led today’s gainers by adding 4.78%.

The industrial sector was the only gainer this session, it added 1.41%, on the back of Al-Eqbal, as well as Lafarge which rose 4.61%, while Phosphate Mines lost 6.2% and led the session’s losers.

Jordan Steel was the most active in terms of traded volume with 134,740 shares, despite retreating 2.22%.

The services and financial sectors declined 0.55% and 0.16% respectively.

Total traded volume decreased to 3.7 million shares compared to 11.2 million in Thursday’s session. Total turnover also shrunk to JOD 6.1 million from JOD 14.3 million in the last session.
