ASE rises Tuesday on blue chips

Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) ended Tuesday’s trading session in the green zone, as the main index added 0.16% or 3.37 points, and closed at the level of 2,110.94 points.

The main index rose on the back of industrial and banks blue chip stocks, as Al Eqbal grew by 2.32% and registered the highest traded volume today with JOD 9.11 million, while Housing Bank, and Cairo Amman Bank went up by 0.1% and 0.54% respectively.

The industrial sector gained 1.15% as Union Tobacco, and Lafarge surged 6.01% and 5% respectively, while Arabian Steel Pipes dropped 5%.

The financial sector levelled up 0.02%, as AJIB added 5%, while Al Ahli lost 3.36%.

On the other hand, the services sector was the only decliner by 0.21% as Jopterol lost 0.29%.

Total traded volumes increased to 6.1 million shares compared to 5.9 million shares on Monday. Turnovers also rose to JOD 16.25 million from JOD 11.3 million.
