ASE rises Wednesday after two declines

Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) ended Monday’s trading session in the green zone, adding 0.97% or 20.49 points, and closing at the level of 2,133.3 points.

The main index rose on the back of blue chip banks, as Arab Bank, Jopetrol, Bank of Jordan, and Al Eqbal rose by 1.47%, 0.28%, 2.38%, and 4.05% respectively.

The industrial sector grew 1.4% as Phosphate Mines, and Jordan Steel added 0.36% and 2.32% respectively.

Jordanian Pharmaceutical increased 3.07% and registered the highest traded volume and value with 9.92 million shares traded at a total turnover of JOR 6.2 million.

On the other hand, Lafrage led the session’s decliners with 4.52%.

The financial sector added 0.82% as Bank al Etihad was today’s biggest gainer by adding 4.73%.

Similarly, the services sector grew 0.56%, as Jordan Telecom and Duty Free increased by 3.81% and 1.19% respectively.

Total traded volume went up to 32.6 million shares from 7.2 million shares last session.

Total turnover also increased to JOD 30.5 million from 6.1 million on Monday.
