ASE’s benchmark index up 0.7% at close

Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange’s main index closed Thursday stronger 0.7% or 14.74 points to the level of 2,136.32 points.

Trading value reached JOD 41.8 million through 5,420 trades on 240.5 million shares.

The bourse’s all sectors rose collectively, led by services as it grew 1.17%, then the financial and industrial sectors with 0.57% and 0.39%, respectively.

The index was supported by the increasing prices of 60 shares, out of 145 companies, while 40 others dropped.

Jordan Telecom and Invest Bank topped the risers after adding 7.34% and 7.20%, respectively, while Arabian Steel Pipes Manufacturing and Arab International Hotels headed the losers with drops of 7.01% and 6.43% in a row.

The main index surged yesterday by 0.25% or 5.32 points to 2,121.58 points.
