ASE’s main closes week in green, moves 0.62% up

Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange’s (ASE) main index continued rising for the eighth consecutive session after rising on Thursday to the level of 2,059.79 points, with a rise of 0.62% or 12.77 points.

However, trading value declined to JOD 7.3 million versus JOD 9.6 million reached yesterday. Trading volume also fell to 7.2 million shares which were exchanged through 4,180 trades.

The ASE’s main sectors had mixed performances, as the financial indicator increased 0.93%, followed by services as it grew 0.61% higher, while the industrial sector came alone in the red zone after dropping 0.71%.

The prices of 48 shares, out of 120, closed with higher rates, and 30 others closed down.

Arab Company for Investment Projects and Jordan Kuwait Bank topped the gainers with increases of 7.14% and 5.56%, respectively.

Meanwhile, Middle East Specialised Cables Company led the decliners with a decrease of 5.88%, followed by South Electronics which fell 5.26%.

ASE benchmark index closed Wednesday 0.53% or 10.88 points higher to 2,047.02 points.
