ASE's main index starts week in green; gains 0.33%

Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange’s (ASE) benchmark index kicked off the week in positive territory, rising 0.33% or 6.57 points to reach the level of 2,022.86 points.

Trading value reached JOD 6 million, versus JOD 5.8 million last Thursday. Trading volume also rose to 7.7 million shares exchanged through 3,200 trades.

The industrial sector was the best after moving 1.42% up, followed by services with a 0.5% increase, while the financial sector came alone in the red list with a fall of 0.11%.

The index was supported by the positive performance of 43 shares, out of 112 companies, while 30 other shares closed down.

Al-eqbal Investment Company and Alentkaeya for Investment and real estate Development Company were the best performers after advancing 5.00% and 5.00%, respectively.

However, Arab Aluminum Industry (Aral) and Specialized Investment Compounds were the top losers after declining by 6.67% and 5.26%, respectively.

The bourse’s main index closed Thursday with a rise of 0.85% or 17.05 points to 2,016.29 points.
