ASE sees marginal decline Tuesday

Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) ended Tuesday’s trading session in red, as the main index slipped 0.01% or 0.22 points and closed at the level of 2,165.73 points.

The main index marginal losses came on the back of blue chip stocks, as Al Eqbal led the session’s decliners and dropped 2.85%, while Cairo Amman Bank and Islamic Bank of Jordan went down by 1.57% and 0.78% respectively.

As for the sectors performance, only the industrial sector closed in red and declined by 1.42%, as Dar Al Dawa and Phosphate Mines lost 2.75% and 0.45% respectively.

On the other hand, the services sector rose by 0.52% as Jopetrol grew 0.88% while JTEL added 0.36%.

Likewise, the financial sector increased by 0.24% on the back of 5 stocks led by today’s biggest gainer, International Cards, which surged 5.26%, while Arab Bank gained 1.48%.

Total traded volume increased today to 7.36 million shares compared to 5.24 million shares on Monday, and turnovers also grew to JOD 7 million from JOD 6.05 million yesterday.
