ASE sees marginal gains Sunday

Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) ended Sunday’s trading session in the green zone, as the main index levelled up 0.01% or 0.22 points and closed at the level of 2,180.46 points.

The main index rose on the back of blue chip stocks, as Arab Bank, Al Eqbal, and Housing Bank increased by 0.64%, 1.44%, and 0.1% respectively. The three stocks combined account for almost 25% of the benchmark index weight.

As for the sector’s performance, the industrial sector was the only gainer and went up by 0.43%, while the services sector slipped 0.08%, as Afaq for Energy and Jopetrol lost 0.84% and 0.56% respectively, the later registered the biggest traded values with JOD 547,200.

Similarly, the financial sector decreased by 0.05%, as United Financial Investments led the session’s decliners and dropped 4.8%, while International Cards was the biggest gainer and surged 5%.

Total traded volumes declined to 3.85 million shares compared to 7.67 million shares On Thursday, while turnovers decreased to JOD 4.21 million from JOD 8.13 million.
