UAE – Mubasher: The official tourist departments in Abu Dhabi and Dubai revealed that tourist arrivals in the two emirates increased by 3.4% during the first half of 2019, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
Tourists and hotel guests in both cities jumped to 10.86 million at the end of June, according to the official figures.
Moreover, the official data showed that Abu Dhabi and Dubai remain as the UAE's most preferred destinations for tourists thanks to their advanced infrastructure and high tourist potential.
In Dubai, tourist arrivals rose by nearly 260,000 during the six-month period ended 30 June 2019, marking a 2.3% year-on-year growth, according to the statistics of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).
The number of hotel foreign guests in Dubai increased by 7.9% year-on-year in H1-19, reaching around 330,000 guests.
Additionally, nearly 4.5 million of Dubai-bound tourists have stayed in the emirate’s hotels, the DTCM's figures highlighted.
In Abu Dhabi, foreign hotel foreign guests grew by 4.5% in H1-19, leading to a surge in hotel revenues due to key exhibitions and activities held during the periosd such as the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019, IDEX, the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019, FIA World Rallycross Abu Dhabi 2019, and Abu Dhabi International Book Fair.
