Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Passengers passing through the terminals of Abu Dhabi International Airport rose 14.1% in January to 2.154 million from 1.887 million in the same month of 2015.
The airline earlier reported a record traffic in 2015, with more than 23 million passengers.
The continuous expansion in Etihad Airways’ operations helps in boosting the passenger traffic from and to Abu Dhabi, Ahmed Al Haddabi, Chief Operations Officer at Abu Dhabi Airports, said in a statement.
“The airport handled 14,514 aircraft movements in January 2016, 2.7% up compared to 14,128 in the same month of 2015,” he added.
Traffic between Abu Dhabi and Italy soared 79.2% year-on-year in January, while flights from and to Australia rose 37.7% y/y.
