Abu Dhabi Municipality plans AED20bn investment projects

Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: The municipality of Abu Dhabi is planning to execute new projects with investments totalling around AED 20 billion ($5.4 billion) half of which will be financed through partnerships with the private sector.

The acting general manager of the Abu Dhabi municipality investment office, Jasim Mubarak Al Zahiri, told reporters, on the sidelines of an event in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, that the municipality will offer many investment opportunities in different fields with investments of nearly AED 10 billion.

Al Zahiri added that most of these projects are expected to be delivered by the beginning of 2018.

Meanwhile, the team leader of Abu Dhabi projects execution, Mohamed Bin Lajrad, said that the municipality is working on developing the emirate infrastructure through different projects, 32 of which are currently being designed with investments totalling AED 4.8 billion, 17 will soon be assigned to contractors with investments amounting to AED 3.5 billion, while another 18 projects are currently under construction with AED 1 billion investments.
