Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Ports has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Dell Technologies to exchange expertise in the fields of maritime, logistics, and information technology (IT).
Upon the MoU, both parties seek to develop technology-based concepts, solutions, and services in a bid to improve the maritime sector in the emirate, according to a press release.
Under the MoU, Dell Technologies will provide Abu Dhabi Ports with consulting services and help them benefit from high value-added technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI) to reinforce their digital transformation process, Abu Dhabi Ports said.
This strategic partnership is set to witness an exchange of the optimum required practices and expertise needed to develop integrated smart ports able to serve the best to customers and other stakeholders of Abu Dhabi Ports, the release highlighted.
The MoU was signed by Abdullah Al Hameli, executive vice president – Corporate Support at Abu Dhabi Ports, and Mohammed Amin, senior vice president, Middle East, Turkey, and Africa at Dell Technologies World 2019 in Las Vegas.

Abu Dhabi Ports has taken major steps over the past few years in tackling innovative digital solutions for trade and port communities.
The Emirati port operator announced the launch of Silsal, a blockchain-based solution aimed at streamlining trade flows and supply chains, in 2018.
