Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Ports (ADP) and Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to consider joint cooperation and boost business opportunities.
The MoU entailed upgrading ports and logistics infrastructure at international ports which EGA uses to load raw materials to the UAE, the Emarati aluminium producer said in a statement.
It is expected that the agreement could lead to new international business opportunities for ADP, in addition to providing more efficient shipping for EGA, the statement showed.
“This MoU paves the way for further opportunities through which Abu Dhabi Ports can develop its international business, whilst lowering EGA’s shipping costs through the upgrading of the ports that we use,” said EGA managing director and CEO Abdullah Kalban.
Commenting on the deal, ADP CEO Mohammad Juma Al Shamsi said we seek to create win-win-win opportunities for Abu Dhabi Ports, EGA, and port operators and their communities across the world.
“Abu Dhabi Ports’ expertise in developing ports and interest in investing internationally, combined with EGA’s demand to use port facilities, should make upgrade projects economically attractive to the benefit of everybody,” Al Shamsi added.
