Mubasher: Net profits of Abu Dhabi Ports for the year 2016 surged 140% compared to 2015, according to official statement.
The company's profits before interests, taxes and depreciation hiked 90% year-on-year.
The rise in profits coincided the great growth seen in shipping through its ports in most of the sectors, despite the slowdown of the global economy.
Abu Dhabi Ports contributed to promoting Abu Dhabi customs' revenues by more than 70%, thanks to its partnership with global partners, the statement said.
Abu Dhabi Ports has partnered with China’s Cosco Shipping Company to operate new containers' terminal at Khalifa Port 2018, with a draft depth of 18 metres and 1200 metres of quay wall and adjacent land.
