Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The newly-formed Abu Dhabi Power Corporation (ADPower) announced the appointment of Jasim Husain Thabet as its CEO and managing director, according to a statement.
Thabet has recently resigned from his position as the CEO of the National Central Cooling Company (Tabreed), which recorded a 28% increase in revenues in the UAE and the GCC over six years.
The newly-appointed CEO is forecast to “lead the transformation of the sector and drive the role of the company as an active investor in the utilities sector delivering value for Abu Dhabi,” ADPower’s chairman, Saif Mohammad Alhajeri, said.
For his part, Thabet noted that he aims to “ensure sustainable energy for Abu Dhabi whilst delivering value to the Abu Dhabi Government and all stakeholders from [the emirate's] national assets.”
Previously, Jasim held several leading positions at the industry unit of Mubadala Investment Company, General Electric Power Systems, and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
