Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) posted a growth of 6% year-on-year in its passenger traffic in the first nine months of 2016, according to AUH’s recent report.
Number of passenger traffic reached 18.53 million passengers in the nine-month period.
The airport saw 2.1 million passengers in September 2016, an increase of 5% from figures recorded in September 2015.
There were 352,067 departures in total in September 2016, a 10.1% rise year-on-year.
Passenger traffic to India grew by 10%, maintaining its position as top destination, with 355,328 passengers seen last September.
Passengers to Qatar increased by 18.4% year-on-year in September 2016, while Saudi Arabia rose to become the third busiest destination, with traffic to and from the country increasing by 19%.
