Abu Dhabi airport sees 7.3m travellers in 4M

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi International Airport has seen around 1.84 million travellers during April 2018, compared to 2 million travellers in the same month last year.

The number of travellers through the airport stood at 7.3 million passengers in the first four months of this year, versus 8.2 million passengers in the prior-year period, according to official statistics.

London has topped the most five crowded destinations from Abu Dhabi airport in April, followed by Manila, Jeddah, Bangkok, and Cairo.

Moreover, France has recorded the highest growth rate in passenger traffic, which reached 18.9% last month, as compared with April 2017.

Meanwhile, India has come in the first spot by acquiring 17.7% of the number of travellers last April, followed by the UK, making up 7.4% of air traffic.

Figures also showed that total air traffic in the Abu Dhabi International Airport amounted to 11,615 in April 2018, while it reached 47,403 during the four-month period of this year.

In terms of cargo, the airport handled 51,400 tonnes of freight in April, and 193,000 tonnes in the January-April period of 2018.
