Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Total net income of commercial and Islamic banks rose 2.2% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2016 to reach AED 7.71 billion, according to a report by the Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (SCAD).
Net income of commercial banks represented 85.2% of all banks’ total income, while the Islamic banks acquired the remaining 14.8%.
Higher Q2-16 revenues of commercial banks went up on investment incomes and other incomes by 13.6% and 4.9% respectively, while income from interest increased 2.2% during the period.
