Abu Dhabi court adjourns fake portfolios case

Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Misdemeanor Court has set 10 October 2017 for the hearing of the general prosecution pleading on the case of the fake portfolios launched for car trade.

The case involves four portfolios where suspects embezzled depositors’ money to buy cars, real estate, and shares, according Al Emarat Alyoum newspaper.

Tuesday was the set hearing date for the general prosecution and the defence pleadings on the third portfolio, but the court adjourned the date to October so as to carry on the proceedings for the four actions simultaneously and issue all rulings on the same day.

The Emirati newspaper further revealed that the general prosecution had referred the suspects to the court after receiving 3,124 reports of fraud, money laundering, and unlicensed businesses.
