Abu Dhabi hotel occupancy to reach 100% on National Day

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi officials and hotel managers have forecast that hotel occupancy in the emirate would reach 100% during the National Day holiday, particularly those with a beach view or located near malls.

The coming few days will see major activity in the hotels segment as temperatures improve and ahead of the beginning of several expo, conferences, and economic, touristic, and sports events, they said.

Speaking to Al Bayan newspaper, Danat Al Ain Resort general manager Khaled Sharabassy forecast that hotels would be fully booked on the occasion of the UAE’s National Day, indicating that visitors often come from neighbouring Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, alongside UAE nationals and residents.

Jumeirah At Etihad Towers’ general manager Stephan Fuchs agreed with Sharabassy, noting that the sector has registered strong occupancy levels in the third quarter of 2018 on the back of growing tourism.

Fuchs forecast that this growth would continue in the coming months on the back of the national holidays and Christmas holidays.
