Abu Dhabi imposes VAT on hotel fees - DCT

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The value added tax (VAT) will be applied on the price of hotel rooms and service fees which amount to 10% at tourist and hospitality buildings in Abu Dhabi, said the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) in Abu Dhabi.

Tourist and municipality fees of the rooms will be VAT-free, the DCT added.

The UAE will introduce a 5 % VAT at the start of next year.

The UAE is set to raise revenues range between AED 10 billion and AED 12 billion ($2.7 billion - $3.2 billion) after applying VAT on all products and services, with the exception of 100 basic commodities.
