Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi’s volume of non-oil foreign trade through various customs ports rose 2.8% year-on-year in the first nine months of 2016, according to a statement by the Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi (SCAD).
Non-oil foreign trade reached AED 126.5 billion as at 30 September 2016, compared to AED 123.1 billion as at 30 September 2015.
The volume of imports in the emirate stood at AED 87.8 billion in the first nine months of 2016, up 1.6% from AED 86.38 billion recorded in the same period of 2015.
Re-exports rose 22% to AED 16.3 billion as at 30 September 2016, compared to AED 13.3 billion in the same period of 2015.
Non-oil exports fell 3.9% to AED 22.47 billion in the nine-month period of 2016, compared to AED 23.37 billion in the prior-period of 2015.
The US was the leading source of imports through Abu Dhabi’s ports with value of AED 17.07 billion in the first nine months of 2016, followed by Saud Arabia at AED 8.95 billion and Japan at AED 6.53 billion.
Abu Dhabi’s non-oil exports to China stood at AED 3.95 billion as at 30 September 2016.
