Abu Dhabi’s CPI dips 0.2% in June

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The consumer price index (CPI) in the emirate of Abu Dhabi slipped 0.2% year-on-year in June 2019 to 111.6% from 111.9%, according to a report released by the Statistics Centre of Abu Dhabi (SCAD).

Month-on-month, the CPI in the UAE’s capital slightly fell by 0.2% to 111.6% last June, versus 111.9% in May, the SCAD revealed.

In the same vein, the CPI dipped 0.6% to 111.3% during the first six months of 2019, compared to 111.9% in the same period of 2018, the report added.

The housing, water, electricity, gas, and fuel services segment contributed to the CPI decline rate by 204% during the January-June period of the year, with the prices of these services dropping by 3.5%.

Meanwhile, the transport services segment, which its prices fell by 5.8%, has contributed to the CPI decline rate by 154.2% during the six-month period..
