Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The consumer price index (CPI) of the emirate of Abu Dhabi slid by 2.6% year-on-year (YoY) to 107.6% in March, compared to 110.5%, a recent report released by the Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi (SCAD) showed.
Month-on-month, the CPI declined by 1.5% from 109.3% last February, according to the report.
During the first quarter of 2020, the emirate’s CPI fell by 2.2% to 108.9% from 111.3% in the year-ago period.
The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas, and fuel group decreased by an annual 4.8% in Q1-20, contributing 70.3% to the overall drop.
Meanwhile, the prices of miscellaneous goods and services as well as furnishings and household equipment tumbled by 5.5% and 4.6%, respectively.
On the other hand, the prices of recreation and culture rose by 8.7% in the January-March period of 2020.
