Abu Dhabi’s SANAD unveils minority investment in school food firm

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi-based investment development company SANAD AD has announced a minority investment in Slices, a local food and beverage company.

The new partnership is likely to help maintain Slices’ plan to provide wholesome, nutritious meals across schools in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai and Sharjah, according to a press release.

The company has already received initial funding support from the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development (KFED) to carry out the plan.

“We are very excited with this new partnership that we have forged with SANAD AD, which is a result of years of studying the market -understanding its challenges and developing solutions that will allow our business model to remain competitive in the market and continue to grow,” CEO of Slices Faisal Al Hammadi said.

This investment will help Slice to move on to the next phase of its planned strategy and to expand across the UAE and later in the GCC market, Al Hammadi added.

For his part, Kamal Raza, director of investments at SANAD AD, commented: “Our investment in Slices reinforces our focus on community health and playing our part in providing high-quality health resources to residents and nationals of the UAE.”
