Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Miral, which is developing various projects across the emirate of Abu Dhabi particularly entertainment destinations, is looking to attract around 48 million visitors to Yas Island by 2022 through various projects including the Warner Bros Abu Dhabi theme park, Miral CEO told Mubasher.

Mohammed Al Zaabi further revealed that his company was planning to develop more assets on the island, particularly in the entertainment and recreation sector.

Warner Bros Abu Dhabi opened its doors in July to Yas Island visitors. The theme park offers around 29 rides, live shows, and other entertainment facilities. Total investments in Warner Bros Abu Dhabi reached $1 billion.

Such development comes as part of Miral’s continuous efforts to support the emirate of Abu Dhabi’s position as a world destination for sustainable tourism and entertainment, Al Zaabi added in his interview with Mubasher.

In February, Miral and Warner Bros Abu Dhabi jointly announced launching a Gotham City within the $1 billion theme park.

Commenting on why the UAE is currently focusing its efforts on theme parks, Al Zaabi told Mubasher that theme parks have become the preferred outing and destination for families across the globe, noting that families like to go to theme parks where they spend memorable hours together.

Miral had originally made the Warner Bros Abu Dhabi theme park announcement in April 2016.
