Abu Dhabi’s hotel guests grow 3.5% YoY in H1-19

Mubasher: The number of hotel guests in Abu Dhabi rose by 3.5% year-on-year to 2.5 million during the first six months of 2019, according to data released on Tuesday by Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT).

Hotels revenue in Abu Dhabi surged 10.6% to AED 2.9 billion in the six-month period ended 30 June, compared to the year before. 

Occupancy rate went up by 0.5% year-on-year to 72% in H1-19, while average room rate (ARR) reached AED 377. 

The number of hotels in Abu Dhabi recorded 168 by the end of June 2019, while the number of hotel rooms hit 33,000.
