Dubai – Mubasher: Revenues of Abu Dhabi-based hotels reached AED 2.65 billion in the first six months of 2018, encouraged by the hike of guest numbers and stay period, according to the latest bulletin from Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (SCAD) on Sunday.
The number of the guest nights rose by 7.8% year-on-year to 6.3 million nights in the January-June period of this year, compared to 5.55 million nights recorded last year, raising the occupancy rate to 71%, the state-run statistics agency’s data showed.
From January to June 2018, Abu Dhabi’s hotels and other tourist facilities welcomed more than 2.4 million guests, up 5.1% against the corresponding period last year when they saw the number of guests amounted to 2.29 million.
Abu Dhabi’s hotels sector also posted an average daily rates (ADR) of AED 360, and AED 268 per unit.
There are more than 163 hotel facilities in Abu Dhabi, including hotels, resorts and serviced apartments, according to Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism.
