Abu Dhabi's import unit value index declines to 138% in Q1-20

UAE - Mubasher: Abu Dhabi's Import Unit Value Index dropped by 24.7% to 138.5% during the first three months of 2020, compared to 104.3% during the same period of 2019.

The import unit value index of the consumer goods decreased by 19.8% to 144.5% in the first quarter (Q1) of 2020 from 180.2% in the year-ago period, according to the data by the Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (SCAD).

Meanwhile, the food and beverages category was the only riser with 2% in the January-March period, when compared to the corresponding period of 2019.

As for the exports, the unit value index rose by 5.2% to 80.2% in Q1-2020 from 76.3% in the fourth quarter of 2019.
