Abu Dhabi’s index of confidence in business climate down 3% in 2015

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The general index of confidence in the business climate and its sub-indexes declined last year by 3 point to 59 points, versus 62 points in 2014, according to a statements issued on Saturday by the Studies Division of the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi (ADDED).

The ADDED Acting Undersecretary, Khalifa Bin Salem Al Mansoori, suggested that the results of  general index of confidence in 2015 shows a continuing positive outlook by economic institutions operating in various sectors; industry, commerce, service and construction.

The highest level of optimism was in the service sector’s businesses with 62 points, followed by commercial and industrial activities with 61% for each, while the construction activity gained 57 points during the year.

The evaluation of business establishments of the current conditions was affected by production inputs, inflation rate and the decline in sales size and profit levels, Al Mansoori added.
