Abu Dhabi's inflation rises 3.4% in February

Mubasher: Abu Dhabi's inflation increased by 3.4% in February, according to the emirate's statistics centre.

The consumer price index (CPI) reached 105.5 points in February, compared with 102 in the same month of 2015.

The CPI for the first two months of 2016 hit 105.6 points, up 3.3% compared with 102.2 in the same period of 2015.

The inflation rise was attributed to the higher prices of commodities and services. The prices of housing, water, electricity and gas rose by 8.2%, restaurants and hotels (6.0%) and commodities and diversified services (3.3%). In addition, the prices of food and beverages rose by 1.7%.
