Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Inflation in Abu Dhabi grew 3.6% year-on-year in the first half of 2018.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) of the emirate recorded 111.9% in the six-month period, versus 108% in H1-17, according to a report released by Statistics Centre of Abu Dhabi (SCAD) on Monday.
In June, the CPI rose 3.3% year-on-year, and edged up 0.5% month-on-month, the SCAD’s data showed.
The transport segment prices rose by 9.4% in the six-month period, contributing to the inflation growth rate by 36.4%.
Moreover, the prices of ready-made clothing and footwear made up 19.7% of the inflation growth rate as it went up by 14.1%, the SCAD added.
On the other hand, the prices of the housing services, water, electricity, gas, and fuel segment eased inflation rate by 32.5% as renting rate of residential property fell by 3.4%.
