Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi’s new airport project is on-track to be 90% complete by the end of 2016, Abu Dhabi Airports Chairman Ali Majed Al Mansoori said.
Construction work is ongoing and there will not be any changes to the opening date scheduled December 2017, Al Mansoori added on the sidelines of Abu Dhabi Aviation Summit.
There is an interest to establish a metro to connect the new airport with Saadiyat Island and Yas Island, yet no decision took effect to develop a plan for such a project.
Al Mansoori expected passenger numbers to grow 8-10% by the end of 2016.
