Abu Dhabi's non-oil trade balance surplus exceeds AED 8bn in 2019

UAE – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi achieved an AED 8.3 billion surplus in the non-oil trade balance during 2019, according to the latest data by the Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi (SCAD).

The surplus occurred after exports amounted to nearly AED 110.76 billion and exceeded imports, which had a total value of AED 102.42 billion.

Base metals and articles thereof accounted for 29.6% of the non-oil exports valued at nearly AED 213.2 billion in 2019.

Meanwhile, re-exports reached nearly AED 52.8 billion, with the vehicles of transport contributing 20.6% of the total.

Saudi Arabia ranked first in Abu Dhabi's re-export, export, and import lists with a total value of AED 17.4 billion, AED 25.8 billion, and AED 12.2 billion, respectively.

It is noteworthy to mention that Abu Dhabi's gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 1.5% at fixed prices to AED 803.568 billion, compared to around AED 792.065 billion in 2018.
