Abu Dhabi’s non-oil trade hits AED 111.2bn for 8M

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Non-oil foreign merchandise trade through the ports of Abu Dhabi amounted to AED 111.2 billion from January to August 2015, according to a report issued by Abu Dhabi Statistics Center.

The report noted that May recorded the highest value of non-oil trade as AED 15.09 billion, followed by January and April which registered AED 14.88 billion and AED 14.11 billion, respectively.

Meanwhile, June posted the lowest value of AED 13.14 billion.

In August, non-oil merchandise trade through Abu Dhabi’s ports totalled AED 13.3 billion; as imports stood at AED 9.8 billion or 74% of total trade, while exports registered ARD 1.8 billion or 13.9% of total trade, and the re-exports posted AED 1.6 billion or 12.1% of total.

On an annual basis, the report indicated to a decrease of 14.4% AED 2.2 billion in total trade, with non-oil exports declining by 10.0% or AED 205 million, re-exports by 57.7% or AED 2.2 billion), while the value of imports increased by 1.6% or AED 159 million.

On a monthly basis, non-oil trade decreased by 1.6% or AED 212 million as compared to July 2015, with non-oil exports retreating by 30.7% or AED 820 million, and imports increasing by 3.6% or AED 339 million, and re-exports by 20% or AED 269 million.
