Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) on Sunday launched the gathering of 26 of the world’s leading oil and gas sector leaders at the Abu Dhabi CEO Roundtable.
The event will be held under the Chatham House Rule to increase the openness of discussion, providing a high-level forum for dialogue on the evolving dynamics of the energy industry, state-run news agency WAM reported.
Considered one of the world’s largest and most influential events for the international oil and gas industry, the event takes place on the eve of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC).
Oil and gas leaders will tackle the impact of digitalisation, technology and the Fourth Industrial Age on the future of the international oil and gas industry.
The event will also focus on the evolving dynamics of the energy landscape and the opportunities for hydrocarbon produced energy to prop up today and future global growth.
“This year focused in on the impact of technology and digitalization, which has accelerated since 2014, and the different strategies and different ways it is being deployed,” Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State and ADNOC Group CEO, said.
The roundtable will also focus on the critical role oil and gas companies will play in enabling a step change in global growth as the fourth industrial age unfolds, in particular how advanced new technologies.
New technologies include Artificial Intelligence (AI), predictive data and analytics, and blockchain will enable oil and gas companies to help meet the world’s growing energy needs.
“This important gathering underlined Abu Dhabi’s convening power as a global hub for the world’s oil, gas and petrochemical industries and its position at the center of the conversation shaping the future of our industry,” Al Jaber added.
The event was attended by CEOs from Saudi Aramco, Spain's Compania Espanola de Petroleos (CEPSA), the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), Italian multinational oil and gas company ENI, Hunt Consolidated Energy, Indian Oil Company, INPEX Corporation, JX-Nippon Oil and Gas Exploration (JXTG Holdings), Mubadala Investment Company, Petronas, and Petroleum Development Oman among others.
