Abu Dhabi's trade with Saudi Arabia hits AED 18.3bn in 4M

UAE – Mubasher: Trade exchange between the emirate of Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia valued at AED 18.3 billion during the first four months of 2019, up 20.6% year-on-year, data by the Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi (SCAD) showed.

The capital of the UAE’s trade with Saudi Arabia accounted for 25.6% of its total international trade of AED 71.44 billion in the four-month period ended 30 April 2019, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported, citing the SCAD.

The emirate’s non-oil exports to Saudi Arabia increased by 34.8% to AED 8.9 billion at the end of April, versus AED 6.6 billion in the same period a year ago.

Exports represented 45% of the emirate’s total exports to the world in the January-April period worth AED 17.3 billion.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi’s re-exports to the GCC state grow by 18% year-on-year to AED 5.2 billion from AED4.4 billion, making up 30% of the emirate’s total global trade.

Moreover, the emirate’s imports from Saudi Arabia valued at AED 4.172 billion during the four months, rising 1% as compared with the prior-year period.
