Abu Dhabi sees 0.5% higher non-oil foreign trade in January

Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: The non-oil foreign trade of Abu Dhabi went up by 0.5% to around AED 19.3 billion in January 2020, compared to AED 19.2 billion during the same month of 2019, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The export of non-oil commodities reached nearly AED 5.49 billion in January 2020, up by 0.4% from AED 5.47 billion during the year-ago period, as shown by the figures of Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (SCAD).

At the same time, the imports climbed by 5.8% to AED 10 billion during the first month of 2020 from AED 9.45 billion in January 2019, while the re-exports amounted to around AED 3.81 billion.

Saudi Arabia maintained the first position of Abu Dhabi's list of trade partners, with AED 4.08 billion trade exchange, which constituted 21.1% of the emirate's total trade in January.

China ranked second with AED 1.757 billion trade value in January, followed by the US with around AED 1.35 billion, the UK with AED 881 million, and Japan with AED 884 million.

Meanwhile, transport equipment and parts topped the re-export list with AED 1.9 billion, while industrial supplies led the lists of exports and imports with AED 4.43 billion and AED 4.28 billion, respectively.
