Abu Dhabi sees Tonga’s first embassy

UAE - Mubasher: Tonga’s King Tupou VI has inaugurated his country's first embassy in Abu Dhabi to be located in Etihad Towers on Monday, 30 September, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

The UAE’s minister of state Zaki Nusseibeh attended the opening of the embassy, along with the country’s non-resident ambassador to Tonga Saleh Ahmed Salem Al Suwaidi, as well as the director of the East Asia and Pacific Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) Ahmed Al Hai Al Hamli.

Furthermore, MoFAIC’s director of the Visits Affairs Department Saeed Abdullah Al Qamzi was also present, in addition to Tonga’s ambassador to the UAE Akauola, and several Tongan, Arab, and foreign officials.

The ambassador of Tonga to the UAE, Akauola, affirmed the importance of the embassy’s inauguration in further developing the relations between the two countries
