Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Thales Group and Atlas Elektroniks have unveiled plans to launch an underwater training centre in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The launch of the promising project has been announced based on an agreement with Tawazun Economic Council’s (TEC) economic programme.
The project includes the building of an underwater training centre for an anti-submarine counter-attack, in addition to the management of mine-sweeping mines, TEC’s chief economic development officer Matar Ali Al Romaithi said.
“Tawazun, once again, showcases its role as a key contributor to the empowerment and sustainable development of the defence and security sector in the UAE…This centre is considered the first of its kind in the region,” Al Romaithi commented, quoted by Arabian Business.
