Abu Dhabi trade licences increase 5.5% in 2016 – ADDED

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The number of active trade licences in Abu Dhabi rose 5.5% to reach 92,000 in 2016 compared to 2015, according to a recent report by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED).

Business and consumer confidence continued to register record levels in confidence and optimism due to the government’s efforts to improve the business, the report added.

Foreign direct investment (FDI) in Abu Dhabi grew 8% reaching AED 95 billion, with a net inflow of AED 7 billion in 2016, ADDED’s report noted.

These investments were mainly pumped into three sectors, namely the real estate investments at 25.2%, the manufacturing industries at 20.2%, and financial and insurance activities at 15.4%.
