Mubasher: France’s Accorhotels has announced appointing Marc Descrozaille and Sami Nasser as its new chief operating officers for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
Nasser and Descrozaille will report directly to Mark Willis, who was recently named AccorHotels MEA CEO, according to a statement.
The new appointments have already contributed largely to boosting their respective organisations’ success, Willis said, noting that their experience would support AccorHotels’ presence in the MEA region.
Under his new position, Descrozaille will manage 65 of AccorHotels’ brands in the GCC, with the exception of Saudi Arabia and Sub-Saharan Africa. He will also be responsible for more than 105 operational hotels.
On the other hand, Nasser will manage 50 hotels and over 125 operational ones in the Indian Ocean, Levant, North Africa, and Saudi Arabia.
With more than 4,500 hotels and resorts under its management across 100 countries, the French hotelier is one of the world’s leading luxury hotel and travel service providers.
In July, Qatar’s Katara Hospitality signed a contract with AccorHotels to launch a $1 billion investment fund.
The French hotel operator inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Saudi Real Estate Co (Al Akaria) to manage and operate its under-construction hotel in Riyadh.
