Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Football Federation said that its chief Adel Ezzat resigned on Saturday, 18 August.
After presenting his resignation to Turki Al al-Sheikh, the chairman of the General Sports Authority, Ezzat has said that he is looking to run for the presidency of the Asian Football Confederation.
“I will begin preparing... for elections of the Asian Football Confederation, which will be held next year,” Ezzat, elected last week as the first president of the South West Asian Football Federation, told a Saudi sports broadcaster.
Ezzat's deputy Nawaf al-Timyat has interimly taken the leadership of the Saudi federation until fresh elections are held.
