Africa's equity market capitalization neared $1 trillion in 2015

Cairo – Mubasher: The market capitalization of the African stock markets amounted to around $1 trillion by the end of 2015, said Egypt’s bourse Chairman Mohamed Omran on the sideline of an economic summit.

The African equity markets witnessed the highest trading value and turnovers, through their history, in 2015; likewise, they were the fastest growing between 2012 and 2014 worldwide.

The IPOS in the African bourses enjoy remarkable activity, as their value have exceeded $12 billion in 2015, to push the gross value of the capital increases accomplished through the period from 2011 to 2015 to nearly $42 billion, stated Omran.
